About the Connected Homes Innovation Hub

What is the Connected Homes Innovation Hub?

The Connected Homes Innovation Hub is a shared resource for housing providers to learn from real-world use of connected technologies in homes.

It brings together case studies of projects to show what has been tested, what works in practice, and what it takes to implement.

It is an evolving resource designed to help housing providers navigate the market with greater confidence, using this evidence to inform decisions and make procurement simpler, more consistent and better grounded in real experience.

What is it here to do?

The Hub exists to support housing providers to make informed, evidence-based decisions about connectivity and digital technology.

Its role is to:

  • Test what works in practice - work alongside housing teams to trial connected solutions in real homes and services.
  • Generate usable evidence - capture what delivers value, what doesn’t, and what it takes to implement at scale.
  • Reduce risk for partners - give housing providers the confidence to explore new approaches without committing to large-scale change too early.
  • Support better outcomes for residents - focus on improvements that enhance safety, reliability of services and overall living conditions.
  • Create shared learning across the sector - ensure that insight is not held in silos but benefits multiple organisations facing similar challenges.

The emphasis is practical and grounded, helping partners move from curiosity about “what’s possible” to clarity about “what works”.
